Longmont United Hospital's Graduate Nurse Program helps recent grads make the transition from student to staff nurse. The year you spend with us as a Graduate Nurse will include many individualized and comprehensive learning opportunities.
In addition to working on your home unit, you'll participate in hospital orientation, specialized classroom training, labs, and monthly Graduate Nurse meetings. You’ll be exposed to professionals in Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Nutrition Services, Social Work, Discharge Planning, and Spiritual Care who will share their expertise and insights with you.
To help you understand our unique approach to personalized patient care, we partner you with a mentor who will guide you through your unit-based clinical practice. Our Staff Development Team, along with your mentor, will nurture the skills and attitudes that will help you become a caring, confident nurse.
Here's how it works:
- You must be a nurse graduate with less than 6 months' experience. And, you must have passed, or have a set test date for NCLEX before entering the program.
- Two months before you graduate, check our View Current Jobs page to find out whether there are openings in our current Graduate Nurse Program. The program is usually offered winter and summer, depending on hospital staffing needs.
- Complete our online application and follow the instructions to e-mail the following:
• two letters of professional reference
• your nursing philosophy statement (1 page or less)
- We will acknowledge receipt of your application by email. Only complete applications will be reviewed and interviews will be arranged with selected candidates.
- If you aren't selected for an interview, you may re-apply in the future.
